Live Nativity returns to one South Jackson church
JACKSON, Tenn.– One local church celebrates the Christmas season.
Malesus United Methodist church had their last night of their live nativity.
The show is usually a two night performance.
However, due to the weather they made tonight the only night for the show.
Members of the community are able to drive by and see their church members portraying the biblical characters of the birth of Jesus.
This has been a tradition for Malesus united Methodist for years.
Throughout the drive there is music playing as well as a live donkey to fit the theme.
“There’s bags for children and then for adults, thanking them for coming and some Christmas candy and things like that,” shared Donald Carver, senior pastor for Malesus United Methodist Church.
Actors portraying roman soldiers also greeted guests as they drove through asking for transportation documents.
