‘Evening of Giving’ held by sorority

JACKSON, Tenn. – The Gamma Alpha Omega Chapter of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority hosted an “Evening of Giving” Monday night.

The fourth annual event was held to support, celebrate, and acknowledge the chapter’s community partners and non-profit organizations, as well as recognize the chapter’s calendar participants who helped raise funds for the event.

At the event, 12 donations of $1,000 were made to non-profit partners of the chapter.

Chapter President Kimberly Jones tells us why they donate these funds.

“We know just how blessed we are as individuals and as a chapter, and so we want to bless others. And our non-profit community partners, that’s what they’re doing. They’re helping to uplift the local community,” Jones said.

The “Evening of Giving” was held at the Historic First Baptist Church in downtown Jackson.
