Fire department seeks help in double arson on Darnell Road
JACKSON, Tenn. –Two fires in two different locations that took place on Darnell Road on Sunday around 1:40 a.m. are being investigated.
Madison County Fire Investigator Brian Kemp stated that they did not get a call until around 7:40 a.m.
“Addresses were 78 and 100. Both of the houses were abandoned at the time,” Kemp said. “There was actually a neighbor that called it in. Woke up and saw both of the houses had been burned.”
Kemp stated that the houses were completely burned to the ground upon arrival and even though the houses had been abandoned for 16 months, this is still a crime.
“We need any information that could lead to an arrest on the arson of those two houses,” Kemp said.
Kemp stated that they were able to catch something on video but still need the help of the community to fill in the blanks.
“We’ve got a suspected car in that area in that time,” Kemp said.
The video only shows the suspect going in and coming out.
A $5,000 reward is being issued to anyone who gives information regarding this situation.
