Breakfast Club receives visit from deputy governor

JACKSON, Tenn. – Wednesday morning, the Greater Jackson Chamber hosted Deputy Governor and Commissioner of Transportation Butch Eley at a Breakfast Club event at the DoubleTree Hotel.

Commissioner Eley delved into how the Tennessee Department of Transportation is addressing infrastructure needs and its impact on West Tennessee.

He also spoke of TDOT’s 10-year plan.

“For our children and grandchildren to grow up in a rural area and stay in a rural area and get to a job and get to church and get to their families, then we’ve got to invest in our roads in Tennessee,” Eley said.

Eley says as the state grows, so does the need for reliable transportation infrastructure.
