Kirkland Cancer Center celebrates 10 year anniversary

JACKSON, Tenn.–A local treatment center celebrates a big milestone Wednesday.

The Alice and Carl Kirkland Cancer Center is celebrating their 10 year anniversary in Jackson.
Attendees of the celebration enjoyed hot chocolate, candy canes, and coffee, while musicians played live at the event.

Organizers say the cancer center started out as a dream to give cancer patients the treatment they need closer to home and grew into more than they could ever hope for.

Executive Director, Karen Ellis says the center isn’t just changing the lives of their patients but those who work there as well.

“To be a part of such an organization that offers world-class treatment here in Jackson, Tennessee means everything to me. It means taking care of our friends. It’s taking care of our neighbors. It’s taking care of our family. And everybody here feels that. That’s the connection. you’re family when you come here,” said Ellis.

The Alice and Carl Kirkland Cancer Center is located at 720 West Forest Avenue in west Jackson, across from Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
