Workshop to be held for farmers interested in USDA Value-Added Producer Grants

COLUMBIA, Tenn. — Farmers interested in USDA Value-Added Producer Grants are being encouraged to attend upcoming workshops.

According to a news release, the workshops are designed to help producers with value-added enterprises develop a strong grant application and help farmers develop their ideas for the grants, a competitive program that helps producers develop value-added activities related to processing and marketing new products.

Workshop dates are:

  • January 23 in Jackson in West Tennessee
  • January 24 in Columbia in Middle Tennessee
  • January 29 in Philadelphia in East Tennessee

Workshops will begin at 10 a.m. local time and conclude at 3 p.m. local time, the news release says. Lunch will be provided.

The release says there is a registration fee of $20/person, and registration must be completed five days prior to the workshop date.
