BROWNSVILLE, Tenn.– At almost a million lights, this resident lights his neighborhood for yet, another year.
David Markowski has been setting up Christmas lights in his yard for several years.
He says it’s something that comes from the heart and hopes that people can enjoy over and over again.
“Its primarily me I do almost everything you see out here, I put up. My son helps me with the really tall things. There’s a few things on the roof he has to help with, and my wife helps in any way that I ask her,” Markowski, owner of Markowski says.
These lights will be up until December 31st.
Visitors can come on Sunday’s through Thursday’s from dusk until 10:30, and on Friday’s and Saturday’s from dusk until 11pm.
There are even has special guests on certain nights.
“We will have the Grinch. We have Santa nights. Santa will come out, he hands out candy canes and takes pictures and so we do that on the weekends, we’ll have that kind of thing. And then next week Santa will be out during the week,” he shares.
His hard work was featured on ABC‘s “The Great Christmas Light Fight” in 2020.
” I think it was season 8 if people want to look it up. That was one of the greatest experiences ever,” he adds.
One of his favorite attractions is the one that children send in.
He encourages parents to visit their Facebook page and to post their children’s drawings in the comment section for the chance to be featured in next year’s light show!
“I will print them off and then my family sits down. Next week will sit down as a group and we select four of those pictures then I will take those pictures and I will make them into lights displays for next year,” he adds.
This light also has it’s own station that plays Christmas music, tune into 104.7 FM during your drive.
