Black Tie and Boxing set for January 13

JACKSON, Tenn. – The annual Black Tie and Boxing event is coming up on Saturday, January 13 at the Carl Perkins Civic Center in Jackson.

The night will involve a formal dinner, a cocktail hour, and mixed martial arts fighting.

It’s in support of the Star Center, a local nonprofit that helps clients of all abilities reach their full potential through education services, music therapy, and more.

“Our motto here at the Star Center is ‘Crush the no’ which individuals with disabilities are told no multiple times a day, all day, every day. They’re told no, you can’t get a job, no you can’t go to school, no you can’t live on your own. And we’re all about, here at the Star Center, helping individuals crush the no in whatever way we can,” said Nicole Russell, the Manager of Marketing and Development for the Star Center.

Table tickets are sold out but general admissions seating is still available.
