Holiday 5k raises money for those in need
JACKSON, Tenn.—Sound the alarm, we’ve got running going on! One event allowed you to run for a cause.
Ring the Bells 5k took place at the Farmer’s Market this morning.
Adults had the opportunity to race for services to support the community.
Kids also participated in a one mile race and were all rewarded bells for completing the course.
All proceeds for this event went to The Salvation Army.
Hot chocolate, popcorn and painting were available for free for all participants.
Although the next date for running has not been set, this is expected to return next year.
“I would tell anyone that the first step is the scariest and you will compare yourself to everyone else, but you are no one else but you, and everyone else is really cheering you on,” said Jennifer Holms, Coordinator of Ring the Bell 5k.
A costume contest and an awards ceremony were also held during the event.
