Brownsville suspect turns himself in

BROWNSVILLE, Tenn.— Murder suspect turns himself in to Brownsville authorities.

On Saturday, investigators with Brownsville Police Department issued a warrant for Richard West, 61, of Brownsville for First Degree Murder and Especially Aggravated Robbery. West turned himself  in on Sunday to authorities.

According to Brownsville Police on December 5, officers responded to a residence located on North McLemore Avenue regarding an individual found deceased. It was later found that Roy Haynes passed away of a gunshot at some time the prior day.

During the investigation, Brownsville Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Unit developed evidence that Richard West was the perpetrator of this crime.

Authorities posted to social media on Saturday to be on the lookout for West also describing him as possibly armed and dangerous.
