PRESS RELEASE FROM THE HENDERSON COUNTY CHAMBER OF COMMERCE:
Henderson County Chamber of Commerce Celebrates Sweet Success with Cookie Eating Contest
Lexington,TN [Dec 18, 2023] – The Henderson County Chamber of Commerce is thrilled to announce the successful completion of its inaugural Cookie Eating Contest, a delectable event that brought together community members for a fun-filled competition while supporting a good cause.
The contest, held at Henderson County Courthouse on December 15th, challenged participants to devour as many cookies as possible in a thrilling three-minute time frame. What set this event apart was the unique twist that allowed contestants to raise funds leading up to the event, with each $25 contributing to an additional cookie in the final count at the end of 3 minutes.
The community rallied behind the cause, showcasing their commitment to both friendly competition and charitable giving. With each dollar raised, the excitement and anticipation grew, promising a sweeter victory for those with both speed and fundraising prowess.
After an intense battle of taste buds and fundraising, we are delighted to announce that Corey Bingham (Carroll Bank & Trust Lexington) emerged as the overall winner, claiming the title of the Cookie Eating Champion and receiving the now legendary G.O.A.T trophy and dinner for 2 at Main& Monroe. Bingham’s impressive performance, coupled with an outstanding fundraising effort, truly exemplifies the spirit of community engagement and support that the Henderson County Chamber of Commerce strives to foster.
The funds raised through this event will contribute to First United Methodist Church Food Pantry, demonstrating the community’s dedication to making a positive impact. The Henderson County Chamber of Commerce extends its heartfelt gratitude to all participants, sponsors, and supporters who made this event a tremendous success. Total amount raised to support the Food Pantry was $6730.00.
“We are overwhelmed by the community’s response to the Cookie Eating Contest,” said Kristina Anderson, Executive Director of the Henderson County Chamber of Commerce. “This event not only brought joy and laughter to our community but also allowed us to make a meaningful contribution to a worthy cause. We look forward to building on this success in future events and continuing to strengthen our bonds with the community.”
