Woman shares her story following October heart attack
JACKSON, Tenn. – In the United States, someone has a heart attack every 40 seconds.
One woman shares her story to promote awareness to others.
Kiera Jones, 31, is a mother of three who suffered a massive heart attack last October.
Jones had an impella put in for seven days to pump her heart for her.
Since the incident, Jones has had many physical and mental challenges such as physical therapy and having to wear a life vest for seven months.
Jones stated that her children have been affected by this incident as well when in regards to her finances.
Most importantly, she wants to raise awareness to young people her age.
“My mom and sister basically had to stay with me when I left the hospital due to me being on a life vest where I just had a newborn, and then I had two other kids to take care of. So they basically had to stay with me. One during the day and one at night,” Jones said.
Jones stated that she has just now started driving again and that this lesson has taught her to cherish your loved ones because you never know when tomorrow may be your last day.
