Wreck near I-40 draws multiple first responders

MADISON COUNTY, Tenn. — First responders were on the scene of a wreck near Interstate 40 Tuesday afternoon.

Around noon, a 7 Eyewitness News Tipster informed us of a crash that occurred near Exit 68 in west Madison County.

Our crews arrived on scene around 12:20 p.m. to find Madison County Fire, Sheriff’s Office, and the Tennessee Highway Patrol responding, along with multiple ambulances.

Our crews observed a vehicle flipped on its side near the off ramp headed west towards Memphis, as well as a medical helicopter that had landed near the ramp.

At the scene, a stretcher carrying a person underneath a sheet could be seen being loaded onto an ambulance.

At this time, an investigation into the crash remains underway. We’ve reached out to the Tennessee Highway Patrol to confirm details and will provide an update once information becomes available.
