$36.6 million granted to improve state’s infrastructure, more
NASHVILLE, Tenn. — State officials have approved $36.6 million in grants aimed at improving infrastructure and more.
Community Development Block Grants will be going to 78 communities across the state, according to a news release from Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development.
The grants can be used for water and sewer improvements, housing rehabilitation, health and safety projects, projects that improve to quality of life, safety projects, and community development projects, such as sidewalk and walking trail improvements, street paving and community centers, the release says.
Communities includes, but are not limited to:
- Brownsville: $630,000 for Hatchie Street Safety Improvements
- Dyer: $399,535 for City Park ADA Improvements
- Haywood County: $630,000 for Ambulance Authority Renovation Project
- Henderson: $419,995 for Fire Improvement Project
- Henning: $286,700 for Water System Improvements
- Hollow Rock: $630,000 for Local Park Improvements
- Lake County: $378,820 for Ambulance Service
- Lexington: $580,803 for Communication System Improvements
- Madison County: $630,000 for Emergency Services Facility
- Martin: $630,000 for Recreation Facility Improvements
- Sharon: $373,532 for City Park Improvements
- Tiptonville: $630,000 for Street Improvements
- Trenton: $630,000 for Sewer System Improvements
- Trezevant: $232,115 for Sewer System Improvements
