JACKSON, Tenn. – Workers at a local automotive manufacturing plant are turning bright ideas into acts of service for those in need this Christmas.
UGN in Jackson packed the magic of Christmas into more than 25 large boxes on Wednesday.
The donations are for seniors at Golden Years Adult Daycare, along with other submissions from team members at UGN.
The boxes included noodles, sandwiches, laundry detergent, hats, socks, gloves, coffee, candy, and other items they may need through the holidays
The idea came from a team leader, Gigi Surratt, who says this is a way to influence the team to get involved and give back to the community.
“This is the kind of stuff I feel we need to do as a plant or as a group. It means a lot to me because when you sit down and actually talk to them you learn a whole lot,” Surratt said.
UGN will continue to give gift boxes to other places in the Jackson community as more items are donated by team members.
