8-year-old West Tennessean gets to skate for Christmas break

LEXINGTON, Tenn. – A local girl asked for something special for Christmas and she might be well on her way to the prize.

It’s Christmas break and eight-year-old Kimber Scott and her grandmother got the idea to do something fun on Thursday.

“She got bored at home so we decided we would come out and do a little skating. She loves to skate,” said Patty McBride, Scott’s grandmother.

Scott not only likes to ice skate but likes to rollerblade as well. She is asking for something special for Christmas.

“What I really want is a drone and that Barbie house. And I want rollerblades. I want to learn how to rollerblade because I already know how to rollerskate,” Scott said.

Scott said she has been good and she thinks Santa will bring her what she wants.

“Santa brought my roller skates. He started all of this,” she said.

For now, she continues to skate and spend time with her grandmother on beak.

“She’s a lot of fun to have around. She keeps you moving, keeps me moving,” McBride said.

For anyone else who wants to keep moving this Christmas break, the ice rink is open now until Saturday from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m.
