Positive Living Group director talks about seasonal affective disorder
JACKSON, Tenn. – Christmas is known as the most wonderful time of the year, but not for everyone.
One organization discussed how we can help uplift spirits through the holidays.
The Positive Living Group wants those who are experiencing seasonal affective disorder, better known as SAD, to know that help is available.
Officials say the loss of a loved one or the weight of being a caretaker can sometimes overshadow your happiness.
The Positive Living Group doesn’t want this to be a sensitive time for you, but instead, a time to make sure that you’re the best version of yourself because mental health is mental wealth.
“No one will ever down you or put you down for getting help because depression is something that every human being on this planet has either had or will have. Anxiety is the very same way,” said Tawanna Miller, the Clinical Director for the Positive Living Group.
Cooking, hiking, painting, or a simple walk in the park are some common ways to help ease some of the stress this holiday season.
