RIFA, Old Country Store offer a place to eat on Christmas Eve
JACKSON, Tenn. – Looking for a place to spend Christmas Eve together? Here are a few places you could go!
Brooks Shaw’s Old Country Store will be continuing a treasured family tradition with the 39th annual Christmas Eve breakfast buffet from 5:30 a.m. until 2 p.m.
Breakfast will include a traditional southern-style buffet at a discounted price.
“We really look at it as our Christmas gift back to the community. People are able to come here and enjoy a wonderful time with community, with family, with fellowship,” said Brooks Shaw, the General Manager of the Old Country Store/Casey Jones Village.
Shaw says one big focus of the Old Country Store is the community.
He shared how it feels to see generations of families come back each year.
“It’s just so heartwarming to see everybody come in. And they’ve done this family tradition, many of them for 39 years. It’s very humbling and rewarding to be a part of that legacy,” Shaw said.
Shaw also says the work the entire staff puts in is hard work and he looks forward to serving the community for another 39 more years.
Another local restaurant is Rhodes Diner in Medina
Families are welcome on Christmas Eve for breakfast, buffet style. This will be served from 6 a.m. until 3 p.m.
They invite families to come in their Christmas pajamas and visit with Santa.
And RIFA is serving a Christmas Eve dinner starting at 2 p.m. It will be hosted by GT Productionz and the Circle of Love.
“It’s for us to come out together. We’re having a Christmas meal with the people one on one and that bridges the gap. And if you let people know that you care, that will make their worth go up,” said Katrena Howard, with GT Productionz.
Howard expressed that this act of giving is more than providing a meal and is asking others to volunteer or donate.
“I believe one act of kindness can change the world. We have some kindness and some good people right here in Jackson, Tennessee who don’t mind reaching out without any prejudice in any kind of form,” Howard said.
