Dollar General issues statement on Christmas morning fire at Cedar Grove store
CEDAR GROVE, Tenn. — A popular business went up in flames Christmas morning in one local community.
Several WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News tipsters alerted us to a fire that occurred at the Dollar General off Highway 70 in Cedar Grove.
According to Carroll County Fire Department Chief Amanda Sneed, firefighters responded to the scene shortly after 6 a.m. on Monday.
Sneed says no injuries were reported, as no workers or customers were present at the time the fire occurred, and the front door had to be breached for entry as the department worked to extinguish the fire.
Sneed says the building, along with merchandise inside, received heavy damage. She believes the store may be a total loss, however damage assessment is still underway.
