New app to help you keep up-to-date on Jackson’s many events of 2024

JACKSON, Tenn. – The year 2024 will be a busy year for the City of Jackson. The first events of the new year are kicking off this weekend. 

The Visit Jackson, TN office has planned some events for 2024, such as Christmas in the City on January 13, an event that was originally scheduled for December 9. It had to be postponed due to the threat of severe weather. 

March will start with one new event that will bring many visitors to the city. 

“We are looking forward to a great 2024. As of right now, the newest event that’s on our horizon is the Southern States Athletics Conference. They’ll be having their baseball champions this year in Jackson in the end of April,” said Lori Nunnery, the CEO of Visit Jackson, TN. 

The summer months will have some returning favorite events that family and friends can look forward to.

“To the Jackson Rockabillys that will start in June and run through August, to the Andrew Jackson Marathon, to numerous other events and activities. And you can find most of those events listed on our website at visitjacksontn.com,” Nunnery said.

Visit Jackson, TN has a new online app that brings the city into the palm of your hand. 

This app features a calendar of events, an itinerary that is sharable, and tourism stops.

“Visit our app at Visit Jackson, TN and that’s either on Google Play or iTunes you can download that. Map out an itinerary, find out about events going on, or just look for something to do,” Nunnery said.

If you are a resident of Jackson that has cool event ideas for the city, there is a grant opportunity.

“If you are interested in creating an event or you have an event that generates overnight stays, there are opportunities for grants. That process usually starts about March and is determined by the end of June of this year. So you can reach out to our office at Visit Jackson, TN,” Nunnery said.
