Steven John “Steve” Mills, age 68, resident of Lakeland, Tennessee and husband of the late Betty Sue Norris Mills, departed this life Friday, December 29, 2023 at St. Francis Hospital in Bartlett, Tennessee.

Steven was born October 30, 1955 in Centralia, Illinois, the son of the late John Dale Mills and Marilyn Fern Telford Mills. He moved with family at an early age to Tennessee and graduated from Bartlett High School in 1973. He continued his education at Memphis State, receiving his bachelor’s degree in 1982 and his master’s degree in 1985. Steve was self-employed in the information technology industry for many years and had lived in Shelby County on and off since 1972.

Mr. Mills is survived by three brothers, Douglas Mills (Belinda) of Slayden, MS, Jeffrey Mills (Pat) of Arlington, TN and Jack “Carl” Mills (Maria) of Memphis, TN and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jay Mills.

A visitation for Mr. Mills will be from 11 A.M. to 1 P.M. Thursday, January 4, 2024 at the Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somerville. Funeral Services will be at 1 P.M. Thursday, January 4, 2024 at the Peebles Main Funeral Chapel with Rev. Danny Berryhill officiating.
