2024 West Tennessee Legislative Luncheon held Thursday

JACKSON, Tenn. – The 2024 annual West Tennessee Legislative Luncheon was held Thursday.

The event, hosted at the DoubleTree Hotel in Jackson, involved a welcome, invocation, and lunch. 

Senior Advisor Alec Richardson spoke first and was followed by US Senator Marsha Blackburn. 

Attendees also heard from Representative Debra Moody, Senator John Stevens, and Senator Ed Jackson.

The meeting involved questions for legislatures and a developmental district update before adjourning. 

“Our goal and intent with this legislation is to make sure that the aging population and the developmental and intellectual disability population has the representation it needs and deserves,” said Alec Richardson, the Senior Advisor to Gov. Bill Lee.

Topics covered included the impact of Blue Oval, air traffic expansion at Jackson’s  McKellar-Sipes Regional Airport, and the farm bill.
