Athletes participate in state running competition
THREE WAY, Tenn.—The cold weather didn’t stop runners from competing in a 5k earlier today.
The 5k took place at the new Middle Fork Bottoms State Park in Three Way and was the first time ever being held there.
The race is a part of a series of state park races across Tennessee within the Tennessee Running Tour.
The Tennessee Running Tour takes place between the first of October and the first of March.
“We are so excited for the turnout. We expected maybe around a hundred and we have over 200 registered plus walkups,” said Lindsey Barnes, Race Director, Middle Fork Bottoms 5k.
The race included winners from age groups in ten year increments and participants ages 10 to 80.
