Margaret Edna Carrington Risen Rikard

Margaret Edna Carrington Risen Rikard, age 91, passed away on Monday, January 1, 2024, at the Haywood Community Hospital in Brownsville, TN. Funeral Services for Mrs. Rikard will be held on Thursday, January 4, 2024, at 10:00 AM at the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home in Brownsville, TN, with Bro. Randy Kellough officiating. Burial will follow at the Forrest Memorial Park Cemetery in Batesville, MS.

Edna was born on March 12, 1932, in Victoria, MS to Edwin Carrington and Ruth Richardson Carrington. She was a homemaker. She was a Christian lady who loved the Lord and read her Bible daily.  She enjoyed sewing, playing the piano and organ. She loved the Great Smokey Mountains. She was an avid reader, who also enjoyed the word seek puzzles and watching YouTube videos. She loved life and was a comedian and jokester with her family and friends. She was well loved and will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her son, Dennis Rikard (Kristi) of Lincoln, MO; daughter, Sandra Glover of Brownsville, TN; twelve grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Edison Risen; her second husband, Roy H. Alford Rikard; one son, Charles Edwin Risen; her parents, Edwin and Ruth Richardson Carrington; one brother, Bob Carrington; and one son-in-law, Donnie Glover.

Pallbearers for the service will be Garrett Rikard, Eli Rikard, Chip Glover, Charlie Risen, Bobby Stokely and Dennis Rikard.

The family has requested memorials be made to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38101-9908. All arrangements and services are under the direction of the Brownville Funeral Home in Brownsville, TN.
