Unique tour draws visitors to Reelfoot Lake State Park
TIPTONVILLE, Tenn.—Visitors as well as community members joined together for a special tour.
Reelfoot Lake State Park hosted an eagle tour this morning.
Participants rode in a van to every part of the park that housed eagles. And they were also allowed to take photos during the tour.
A tour guide was available to answer any questions or information in regards to the eagles.
“Bald eagles are our national symbol. They’ve come a long way from almost being extinct to now, they’re flourishing again. Our bird rehabilitation program, we have people that donate. We depend on those donations to take care of our captive birds and our injured birds that are brought in that we temporarily house, until we get them to the vet,” said Warren Douglas, Park Ranger, Reelfoot Lake State Park.
They raised approximately $16,000 last year for the eagle tour.
