Frances Conner Holley

Frances Conner Holley, age 87, resident of Somerville, Tennessee and wife of the late John M. Holley, Sr., departed this life Monday afternoon, January 8, 2024 at St. Francis Hospital in Bartlett, Tennessee.

Frances was born November 5, 1936 in Fayette County, Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Otis Conner and Mattie Sue Robbins Conner. She graduated from Fayette County High School and was married January 4, 1958 to Mr. John M. Holley, Sr. who preceded her in death on November 6, 2023. Mrs. Holley was a former resident of the Memphis area before moving to Somerville in 1990.

Frances was employed as a bookkeeper and dispatcher for Tomsin Steel Processing, Harrison Manufacturing and Steepleton Tire before her retirement in 1998. She was of the Baptist faith and a member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church in Whiteville, Tennessee. Frances was the treasurer at Northeast Fayette County Fire Department and she enjoyed fishing, traveling and having breakfast at The Hut in Somerville with her friends.

Mrs. Holley is survived by her daughter, Virginia “Ginger” Hughes (Ken Hughes) of Collierville, TN; her son, John M. Holley, Jr. (Christy Holley) of Somerville, TN; her brother, Carl Conner of Pulaski, TN; and four grandchildren, Holly Boice (Daniel Boice), Jacob Holley, Heather Hughes and Christa Holley.

A visitation for Mrs. Holley will be from 12 noon until 2 P.M. Thursday, January 11, 2024 at the Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somerville. Funeral Services will be at 2 P.M. Thursday, January 11, 2024 at the Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somerville with Bro. David Reeves, pastor of Midway Baptist Church in Whiteville, officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Moriah Cemetery at Whiteville.

The family requests that memorials be directed to Northeast Fayette County Fire Department, 905 Mt. Moriah Drive, Whiteville, TN 38075.
