UPDATE (01/11/2024): Stand-off ends with 2 murder suspects in custody

GIBSON COUNTY, Tenn. – Law enforcement visited the same location of an officer-involved shooting for the second time in under a month.

We received reports of a law enforcement presence and possible barricade situation on Eldad Road outside of Trenton in Gibson County earlier Wednesday afternoon.

This is the same location where a Gibson County deputy and a suspect were shot in mid-December.

Officers, US Marshals, and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation were all on scene.

Authorities also had the road blocked off.

While on scene our news crews were told tear gas was being used and we later heard two pops that could be gas grenades.

According to the Gibson County Sheriff’s Office, two people were arrested.

We reached out to the US Marshals who referred us to the TBI.

Representatives with the TBI confirmed they were on the scene but offered no further details.

They also say this is an ongoing and active investigation.
