Ann Marks Performing Arts Center opens again
BROWNSVILLE, Tenn. – The Brownsville-Haywood County Parks and Rec Department held the grand re-opening and ribbon cutting of the Ann Marks Performing Arts Center Thursday morning.
They are reopening after a two-and-a-half-year closure due to damages caused by an ice storm and implementing building improvements.
Improvements include new theatre seating, a new color scheme, and renovated dressing rooms and restrooms.
“We’ve also added a wonderful, a beautiful collage, a mural downstairs. And so you know all of that is because of the wonderful people in this community who have supported us for decades,” said Achana C. Jarrett, the Cultural Arts Supervisor & Brownsville Arts Council Executive Director.
Those involved expressed excitement at having the doors open to the community again and anticipate the return of a thriving arts presence.
