Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. celebrates its Founders’ Day
JACKSON, Tenn.—A local sorority chapter celebrates 111 years of service to the community.
Members of Jackson Alumnae Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., gathered this morning at the Jackson Country Club for a special event.
A brunch was held to honor those who started the sorority, while also celebrating the chapter’s rich history.
The event featured a special keynote speaker, 25th National President of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Doctor Paulette C. Walker.
Those in attendance also had the opportunity to honor the 22 women who founded the organization, while also recognizing the work of many other sorority members.
“It’s a time of fellowship with our chapter members as well as our family and friends and community supporters,” said Wanda Newsom, Chapter President, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated comprises over 350,000 women with over 100 of those members being a part of the Jackson Alumnae Chapter of the sorority.
