Winter fun in the Hub City
JACKSON, Tenn.—Residents enjoyed some winter activities before the snow arrives.
The City of Jackson, United Way of West Tennessee and Visit Jackson TN hosted its winter wonderland event today at the Farmer’s Market.
The event offered the opportunity to try out ice skating with a rink being set up at the Farmer’s Market near downtown.
The cost was $10 per person and included a 30 minute skating experience. Winter Wonderland also featured several vendors, a petting zoo and train rides for the kids.
“We were looking for something different to bring into the public, so we came up with this idea, a collaborative idea, of having this skating rink. We had no clue how it was gonna work but so far it’s worked perfect,” said Pat Ross, United Way of West Tennessee.
The event was canceled for Friday due to weather conditions, but hours were extended for Saturday’s festivities from 9 am until 6 pm.
