Fundraiser organized for victim in Lexington Walmart shooting

LEXINGTON, Tenn. — An effort to help with medical expenses has been organized following a weekend shooting in Lexington.

Saturday evening, Lexington Police say they responded to Walmart on Church Street, where an employee had been shot in the parking lot.
Lexington Police confirmed the victim was airlifted from the scene to an area hospital.
Wednesday, we received information via a GoFundMe that identified the victim as Chris Parker.
According to the GoFundMe organizer, Parker has since underwent extensive surgery due to his injuries in the shooting, with a long road to recovery expected.

As of Sunday, an investigation into the incident remained underway. We have reached out to Lexington Police for more information, but no further details have been confirmed at this time.
