Boil water notice issued in Lexington; Selmer’s still in effect
LEXINGTON, Tenn. — A boil water notice has been issued by Lexington Utilities for the eastern and southern portions of Henderson County.
Their announcement says that due to a loss of water pressure in the system, customers in those areas are asked to boil any water used for human consumption.
The notice is effect until further notice, the company states.
Henderson County Emergency Management says that bottled water is being handed out at Henderson County Fire Department Station 4 at Chesterfield and at Station 9 in Regan.
The Town of Sardis Water System is also experiencing low water pressure due to numerous leaks related to the weather. They report that water pressure may be less that the minimum of 20 PSI as required by Tennessee Regulations. As a precaution, they say customers may want to boil their drinking water until normal water pressure is restored.
