POLL: Clearing of roadways during Winter Storm Heather
For almost a week now, local crews, along with the Tennessee Department of Transportation, have been tirelessly working to salt and plow streets, highways, and interstates.
Locally, crews dealt with freezing temperatures, freezing rain, and more, that set back their efforts to clear roadways.
Days before the winter storm hit, TDOT announced it was heading into the storm with a 2023/2024 winter weather budget of $26.6 million that included salt, salt brine, overtime for employees, and equipment maintenance.
