Alvah Palmer “Al” Robertson
Alvah Palmer “Al” Robertson, age 87, resident of Williston, Tennessee and husband of the late Mary Joann Lansdell Robertson, departed this life Tuesday evening, January 23, 2024 at Methodist LeBonheur Germantown Hospital.
Al was born April 1, 1936 in Fayette County, Tennessee, the son of the late David Abner Robertson and Elizabeth Justine Shelton Robertson. He graduated from Fayette County High School and was voted Most Handsome in his class. He was married June 12, 1954 to Joann Lansdell, who preceded him in death on May 1, 2022. He was employed as a Sheriff Deputy for the Fayette County Sheriff Department for many years before his retirement.
Al had been a longtime resident of the Williston area and was a member of First Baptist Church in Somerville. He previously served as a Deacon at Whitten Memorial Baptist Church in Memphis and most recently at First Baptist Church in Somerville. He was a very avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He will be remembered for being a loving husband, father and grandfather.
Mr. Robertson is survived by his daughter, Daronda Robertson O’Dell of Memphis, TN and his granddaughter, Anna Brooks Robertson. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Charles Alan Robertson and his son-in-law Donald Lee O’Dell.
A visitation for Mr. Robertson will be from 1 until 2 P.M. Saturday, January 27, 2024 at the Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somerville. Funeral Services will be at 2 P.M. Saturday, January 27, 2024 at the Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somerville with Bro. Stan Smith, pastor of First Baptist Church in Somerville, officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery at Williston.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be Jack Rike, Mark McClain, Chris Lansdell, Daniel Lansdell, David Proctor and David S. Robertson, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Gary S. Robertson, Gene R. Robertson and Garner Culver.
