Crystal Ball returns to the Hub City
JACKSON, Tenn.—No rain could make them stay away, but everyone was dressed for a night of success and giving.
Sponsored by Roberts Jewelers, the Jackson Symphony hosts their 22nd Annual Crystal Ball.
Last year, $130,000 were given to the Jackson Symphony.
We spoke to the Co-chair, Anita Hamilton, who stated that tonight is a wonderful night to celebrate those who have helped along the way.
“We have 17 ambassadors that are high school students being recognized from all over West TN of four years of service to the Jackson Symphony,” Hamilton said.
But what’s the mission of the Jackson Symphony?
“The mission and the cause for the Jackson Symphony is just not the wonderful Pop Concerts we have and the Classicals, but also musicians go into the Kirkland Cancer Center and play for people as they’re having treatments,” Hamilton said.
There are also some new things that the symphony has included that are worth taking a look at.
“It’s a Music Academy that opens up all over West TN for kids with no charge. They can get introduced to instructional music with an instrument,” Hamilton said.
There was a silent and live auction that took place with wonderful items up for grabs.
“Some of our live auction items, we have a trip to Bali, a trip to Ireland. I know I’ve been dreaming all day. We have just an array of silent auction items,” Hamilton said.
As you can see behind me, everything is going on here tonight at the Civic Center. Right now, it’s a silent auction where everything is being offered from quilts to vacations, to creative items for your children.
If you want to support the symphony, you still have time to do that.
“Donate to the Jackson Symphony. You can go on their Jackson Symphony website in Jackson, TN. It makes a difference and not just here but all over West TN,” Hamilton said.
If you or your child is interested in being part of the Jackson Symphony, the admission price to join is only $50.
