Weakley County high school’s FFA holds first-ever chili cook-off
WEAKLEY COUNTY, Tenn. – Area students interested in farming also had a chance to show off their culinary skills with a tasty event.
The Westview High School Future Farmers of America held a first-ever chili cook-off at the Westview High School Cafe.
Participants paid to attend the event and judged which was the best chili by voting with a ticket and placing the tickets in a jar by each crock pot.
“We use this funding to pay for trips, to go to state conventions, and this is just a good way to get funding up for the chapter,” said Lawson Bragg, the Greenhand President of FFA at Westview High School.
“And it’s also a good way for us to be out there with the community and all those that are supporting us and allowing us to do these things,” said Brayden Wagster, President of FFA at Westview High School.
They also held a trivia night that everyone could enter.
Proceeds from the chili cook-off go to the Westview High School FFA.
