Lexington Police: Man stable after being struck by semi

LEXINGTON, Tenn. — Authorities confirm a man is in stable condition after being struck by a semi truck.

According to Lexington Police Chief Jeff Middleton, the department investigated an incident Monday afternoon involving a pedestrian and a tractor-trailer.

Middleton confirms a man who was standing in the turn lane in the 1500 block of North Broad Street stepped in the path of an oncoming semi for unknown reasons.

Middleton says the 43-year-old was airlifted to a Memphis hospital in critical condition, but is currently stable.

Middleton confirms no charges were filed in the incident.
