Bonnie Faye Bobbitt Claunch
Bonnie Faye Bobbitt Claunch, age 83, resident of Piperton, Tennessee and wife of the late Gene Claunch, departed this life Thursday afternoon, February 8, 2024 at National Healthcare Center in Somerville, Tennessee.
Bonnie was born April 14, 1940 in the Macon Community of Fayette County, the daughter of the late Johnie Green Bobbitt and Thelma Carrie Lynch Culver. She received her education at Fayette County High School and was married April 14, 1956 to Hal Eugene “Gene” Claunch, who preceded her in death on September 16, 2017.
Mrs. Claunch was a member of Macon Church of Christ and owned her own hairdressing business for many years. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and fishing and will be remembered for being a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend.
Mrs. Claunch is survived by her daughter, Debbie Duncan (Ed) of Piperton, TN; her son, Hal “Bubba” Claunch, Jr. (Harriet) of Oakland, TN; two sisters, Judy Russell of Oakland, TN and Sandy Wolfe of Oakland, TN; four grandchildren, Ashley Duncan (Michael) of Oakland, TN, Carrie Larson (Steven) of Las Vegas, NV, Crystal Claunch of Poplar Bluff, MO and Amanda Hall (Josh) of Georgia; and four great-grandchildren, Ian Larson of Las Vegas, NV, Riley Larson of Las Vegas, NV, Easton Hall of Georgia and Paige Duncan-Heathcock of Oakland, TN.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Johnnie Ann Allen.
A visitation for Mrs. Claunch will be from 12 to 2 P.M. Monday, February 12, 2024 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland. Funeral Services will be at 2 P.M. Monday, February 12, 2024 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Bro. David Reeves, pastor of Midway Baptist Church in Whiteville, officiating. Interment will follow in the Macon Cemetery.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be Preston Bryson, Mason Degroot, Taylor Wolfe, Shane Russell, Tom Fontana and Michael Heathcock.
