Authorities investigate early morning shooting
UPDATE (2/12/24): TBI releases suspect ID, continues investigation into officer-involved shooting
JACKSON, Tenn.—According to a news release from the Jackson Police Department, three people were injured and one fatally, following an early morning shooting at Slide and Ride II in west Jackson.
The shooting happened sometime before 3am Sunday morning.
A witness stated that prior to the shooting a fight broke out within the club that resulted in several individuals being kicked out. It was then when an individual came back inside the club and began shooting.
The witness says, the shooter then attempted to exit the club and was tackled outside in the parking lot by another patron.
The Jackson Police Department confirmed that upon arrival an officer shot and killed the shooter near the entrance to the club.
When our crews arrived, several members of law enforcement were on scene including JPD, and TBI agents.
