West Tennessee drivers met with snowflakes as a system of rain and snow mix moved through our area

MADISON COUNTY, TENN– Drivers in West Tennessee dealt with rain showers throughout the day. However, as the night fell and temperatures dropped, the rain turned to snowfall.

Our WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News crews arrived to Three Way and found drivers heading south on U.S. 45 to Jackson.

Drivers were seen using low beam headlights, driving at a reduced speed, and in some cases driving in the middle of the two lane highway. Near Humboldt on U.S. 45, pavement markings were difficult to see on portions of the road and drivers began slowing down to compensate for the snow covered highway. In some areas, the double lane highway was reduced to an impromptu single lane in the middle of the road.

While brief, portions of West Tennessee did see up to an inch of snow.
