TONIGHT:

We saw plenty of sunshine on Tuesday after a cold start to the day. Most of West Tennessee started the day near freezing but warmed up to around 50°, near normal, by the early afternoon hours. The winds were light and came out of the west and were between 5-10 MPH most of the day. We didn’t see any precipitation on Tuesday. Tuesday night lows will be cool again and fall down to the low to mid 30s.

WEDNESDAY:

Wednesday looks like it is going to be a really nice day for all of us. Highs will make it up to around 60° and we are again expecting mostly sunny skies. The winds are forecast to come out of the southwest as high pressure builds on in to the south and west of us. The southwest winds are why we will be warming back up above normal for the middle of February. Wednesday night lows will be warmer than the previous few nights and drop down to the low 40s. There is no chance for rain across the region on Wednesday.

THURSDAY:

Thursday will be a lot like Wednesday but we should see more clouds during the day as the humidity will be increasing a bit due to some gulf moisture streaming on it. Expect a partly cloudy day and the winds will come out of the west. Highs on Thursday will reach the low 60s and Thursday night lows will drop to the mid 40s. We are not expecting any rain on Thursday but that will likely change on Friday.

FRIDAY:

The next system will be on the way on Friday. Friday will start out warm but cool down quickly towards the back half of the day after the cold front passes. We are going to see some rain transition to a cold rain and a brief wintry mix or light snow cannot be ruled out, it just doesn’t look like a sure thing as of now. We will keep an eye on that forecast as the week progresses. Highs on Friday will hit the upper 50s before falling down to around 30° by Saturday morning. The winds will shift from the west to the northeast as the day goes on. Chances for precipitation on Friday currently sit at 60%. Some showers may linger overnight into Saturday morning but we will likely be dry before the sun comes up Saturday.

THE WEEKEND:

We are looking at a cold start to the upcoming weekend with Saturday morning falling to around 30°. Highs on Saturday will only reach the low to mid 40s. We are expecting some clouds during the first half of the day on Saturday but they will clear into the afternoon making for a mostly sunny second half of the day on Saturday. The winds will come out of the northwest on Saturday.

The winds will shift to the west on Sunday and temperatures will be a little bit warmer reaching the low 50s on Sunday. Sunday morning though is going to be cold with morning lows likely dropping into the upper 20s. Mostly sunny skies are also expected on Sunday and Sunday night lows will drop down to around freezing again to kick off next week.

FINAL THOUGHT:

Some heavy wet snow fell across West Tennessee Monday night but quickly melted during the day on Tuesday. Quiet and mild weather will stick around for the majority of the work week with the next system coming in on Friday. The weekend will be dry, but it appears like it is going to be a cold weekend as well. We will keep an eye on the forecast on Friday as well as there is a chance we could see more than rain depending on where the temperatures are sitting Friday night.
