UPDATE: Officials discuss response to bomb threat at North Side High School

JACKSON, Tenn. — Several tipsters alerted us to a heavy first responder presence Wednesday morning at North Side High School.

The Jackson Police Department released a statement via Atlas One, which reads:

At 10:03 am, the Jackson Police Department was advised of a Bomb Threat at North Side High School, which came in via text message. Jackson Police Department, Jackson PD Bomb Unit, Jackson PD K-9 unit, Jackson Fire Department, and Madison County Sheriffs Office have all responded to the scene. First Responders are currently performing a methodical search of the school and the surrounding campus in order to secure the campus. Because of the nature of the threat, we take all precautions to ensure the safety and well being of the students and facility of the school. We will update this post as soon as we find out more information.
