Local credit union celebrates 95 years of service

JACKSON, Tenn. — A credit union turns 95!

Patriot Equity Credit Union was established in 1929.

The credit union is a nonprofit cooperative organization created for the purpose of providing financial services to its members.

Every member is a shareholder or “owner” of the credit union.

“We are the oldest financial institution in Jackson, so that’s a pretty big deal, and then, one of the — we are the oldest credit union in West Tennessee,” said branch manager Meredith Jones.

Patriot Equity Credit Union is a community chartered credit union serving the people of Madison County.

If you live, work, worship, attend school, are an enterprise or organization; are a director, employee, volunteer, or retiree of the above mentioned; in Madison County, you are eligible for membership.
