Run, hide, fight are three words that people should consider while in the unfortunate situation of a mass shooting.

“Be aware of your surroundings, especially walking into an area like that. There’s a lot of people there are potential bad actors in that area, which was the scenario obviously in Kansas City.
Watch body language most of these peoples are going to have a nervousness on them,” Toby Braun says.
Another tip is knowing where law enforcement is located and where exits are in case of an emergency.
“If you walk into a building, know where your exits are. Always know where your exits are know that what if something happens which way do I go,” Braun explains.
If in the unfortunate event of being near the line of action of an active shooter, once it’s safe, try to help those who are injured.
“Really applying first aid until first responders, until medical responders now are able to access those to victims. If you’re there and its safe and you can do something stop that person from bleeding out because those seconds can make a life changing difference,” Braun says.
