Drug Task Force searches vehicle on Interstate 40
MADISON COUNTY, Tenn. — A law enforcement presence halted traffic on Interstate 40 Friday morning.
Around 9:30 a.m., Tipsters altered us to a possible vehicle pursuit on the interstate.
Our crews arrived shortly after to find a black four-door sedan stopped on the shoulder in the westbound lane at mile marker 89.
Traffic in the westbound lane was slowed and appeared to be backed up for miles.
Drug task force officials and Madison County Sheriff’s Office members could be seen as a search of the vehicle was conducted.
The vehicle was loaded onto a tow truck and removed from the scene.
The Madison County Sheriff’s Office confirms Jackson Police is the lead agency in this incident. We have reached out to JPD and will provide an update once more details become available.
