From Storms To Bitter Cold
Saturday Morning Update
WBBJ 7 Forecast Update:
Yesterday brought an eventful day weather wise as scattered hail storms moved through West Tennessee on Friday followed by some sleet north of Madison county. A few flurries followed in the early morning hours of Saturday. We will be dry this weekend but it is going to remain blustery and cold as well. Catch the latest forecast information right here.

Here are some photos of the hail from Friday afternoon above and a map of where the hail came down below. The storm that produced the hail moved through between 3:30 pm-5:00 pm.

The drought situation has improved for 6 weeks in a row across West Tennessee. It looks much better, but we have a little bit more work to do.

Highs on Friday hit the low 60s and will be falling down to around 30° by Saturday morning. The winds will shifted from the west to the northeast as the day went on and will be quite gusty out of the north this morning. The wind chill will be in the upper teens to start the day off. A cold day ahead with skies clearing by late morning. Highs today only will struggle to get out of the upper 30s.

The winds will shift to the west on Sunday and temperatures will be a little bit warmer reaching the low 50s on Sunday. Sunday morning though is going to be cold with morning lows likely dropping into the lower 20s. Mostly sunny skies are also expected on Sunday and Sunday night lows will drop down to around freezing again to kick off next week.

NEXT WEEK:
Monday highs are going to warm back up to the mid 50s and low 60s are expected on Tuesday. We could even see highs reaching the mid to upper 60s on Wednesday. The winds will come out of the south and southwest for the first half of the week. The week will start out with plenty of sunshine but the clouds will slowly build back in as the week progresses. There could be some late week showers returning but there is not a lot of confidence in the back half of the forecast yet. If we do see the showers coming back, the earliest day looks like it is going to be on Thursday.
FINAL THOUGHT:
Some heavy wet snow fell across West Tennessee Monday night but quickly melted during the day on Tuesday. Quiet and mild weather will stick around for the majority of the work week with the next system coming in on Friday. The weekend will be dry, but it appears like it is going to be a cold weekend as well. We will keep an eye on the forecast on Friday as well as there is a chance we could see more than rain depending on where the temperatures are sitting Friday night.
