Expo offers the chance to take home some unique animals

JACKSON, Tenn.—One show guarantees to leave you smiling. You may even take a little gift home.

Community members have gathered this afternoon for a Pet Expo here at the Jackson Fairgrounds.

The Exotic Pet Expo was open today from 9 in the morning to 5 in the evening.

This family fun event consisted of many different pets for you and your child to enjoy.

One pet that peeked the most interest was the kangaroos.

Children were spotted playing and petting baby kangaroos in their cage.

One pet that really peaked my interest was the snake.

We spoke to Kiki, the owner of Serpent 13, who allowed us to get an inside peek of her snake collection.

“They make awesome little pets and they’re very easy to take care of and clean up after. I’ve got some larger snakes too, but they are bald pythons and they are absolutely adorable,” Kiki said.

That’s right here at the Pet Expo at Serpent 13.

We also ran into two hard little workers named Gabby and Paisley, who gave me the inside scoop on their salamanders.

Axolotls? The workers told me a little bit about it. Axolotls are salamanders that haven’t evolved to be on land.

And these little business women were ready to sell sell sell!

“So how much are you selling those salamanders for? Um, sixty-five… sixty-five,” said Gabby and Paisley.

Other animals consisted of rabbits, parrots and geckos.

Don’t feel alarmed if you missed this event today.

The Exotic Pet Expo will be open Sunday from 10 am to 4 pm.

The price of admission for Sunday’s event is 5 dollars.
