Former racers come together to share past memories

JACKSON, Tenn.—Racers gather to reminisce about their times behind the wheel.

Today the VFW Post 1848, located on Highway 45 in North Jackson, held their eighth annual Old Drag Racers event.

This event sees former drag racers come together to share pictures and stories about their past in the sport.

The event began at 1 in the evening and lasted until 4 pm.

Event organizers say around 70 people attended today’s event.

Participants came from various states including Florida, Arkansas, Kentucky, and Tennessee.

Eric Woods, event organizer, says that it is like a big family reunion.

Woods went on to say that in their youth they were competitors, but now they want to join together to recognize one other.
