Doctor offers advice on preventing ‘work from home syndrome’
JACKSON, Tenn. — One doctor offers advice on a healthier and more sustainable work-life balance for others while in their home.
Dr. Jeff Fisher, founder of Fisher Traction, gave tips on how others can prevent “work from home syndrome.”
Tips include making your workspace comfortable, taking stretching breaks, hydrating well and seeking help from a healthcare professional if pain persists.
Neck and back pain are major areas that are affected by working from home, due to long periods of sitting at a computer or looking at a phone.
Fisher is offering a do-it-yourself home traction that you can use daily to stretch out your muscles.
Proper posture and regular movement breaks will help to overcome this syndrome.
“Fifteen, twenty years ago, I did not see so many patients with the issues they are having now, and we know now the statistics show 80% — eight out of ten people — will suffer from neck pain at some point in their life,” Dr. Fisher said.
Fisher stated that 80% of people that try his techniques feel better and naturally position themselves better.
