Warmer Weather Returning, Late Week Rain & Storm Threat
WBBJ 7 Forecast Update
WBBJ 7 Forecast Update:
We warmed up to around 60° for most of the region this afternoon and we will top the 60° mark 6 of the next 7 days. We could even hit 70° a time or two as well this week. West Tennessee will also encounter a shot for some storms and at least some rain on Thursday. Find out who is most likely to see the storms and what time, plus catch your nice weekend forecast as well coming up here.

TONIGHT:
Some clouds will increase tonight but should clear out by the afternoon on Tuesday. Expect partly cloudy skies tonight and calm winds for the most part. We will be warmer than the previous nights when we dipped down into the mid 20s. We will start out Tuesday in the mid 30s and should stay above freezing tonight. Precipitation is unlikely tonight across the region.
TUESDAY:
The warm up will continue on Tuesday with highs reaching the low to maybe mid 60s across West Tennessee. After some morning clouds, we should see plenty of sunshine in the afternoon hours. The winds are forecast to come out of the southwest and stay light between 5-10 MPH. We are not expecting any rain and Tuesday night lows will be mild and fall down to the low 40s.

WEDNESDAY:
Wednesday is going to be a warm day across the Mid South with highs making it up to around 70°. The humidity will be increasing as the day goes on and that will help fuel our next chance for showers and storms later in the week. We are expecting one more day without rain on Wednesday but we should see more clouds than on Tuesday. The winds will be a bit breezy and come out of the south around 15 MPH. Wednesday night will be warm with overnight lows only falling to the mid 50s.

THURSDAY:
The next chance for showers and potential storms will be here on Thursday. A couple strong storms cannot be ruled out and we will be keeping a close eye on our storm chances as the week progresses. Highs on Thursday will make it up to the mid to upper 60s depending on when the showers begin. The rain showers and or storms are forecast to clear out by Friday morning. Expect a cloudy and humid day with the winds coming in out of the southwest before transitioning to the northwest late behind the front. Chances for rain is 70% as of now.

FRIDAY:
The showers and storms on Thursday should move out before we start our day on Friday. The clouds will stick around in the morning before clearing out as the day goes on. Highs on Friday will be a little cooler behind the front and will reach up to the upper 50s though still. Friday night lows will fall down to around 40°. The winds Friday will come out the northwest and be a tad breezy in the afternoon.

THE WEEKEND:
The winds are forecast to shift back to the west on Saturday and to the south on Sunday. That will start to warm things up again this weekend. Highs on Saturday are forecast in the low to mid 60s with upper 60s to near 70° expected for our Sunday. We will likely see a lot of sunshine this weekend with possibly a few more clouds on Sunday. Saturday night will drop to the mid 40s and Sunday night lows will dip into the low 50s to start the following work week. As of now, rain showers are not in the forecast this weekend.

FINAL THOUGHT:
Long term forecast models are suggesting a warm finish to the month of February and a warm start to March. Spring is about 4 weeks away and starts on March 19th this year. As the warmer weather moves in, we might be transitioning to more of a severe weather threat than a cold and snowy one for the last month of Winter. The next chance for storms is coming in on Thursday this week, but the following weekend is looking pretty nice though.
